Last week I popped into Paperchase (one of my favourite shops) for a card and spotted a little pack of nail art pens. Of course I had to buy them! Using them I created the following floral design.

The pack contained five pens; grey, mint green, baby blue, pale pink and pale yellow.

Pull the cap off for the pen. This is the feature I used to create my flowers.

After painting on two coats of Models Own pale pink and waiting for it to dry, I then used the grey pen to paint on five petals for each flower. In the centre of these five dots I then added a yellow dot. To my signature nail I added three coats of Models Own Blizzard – Wonderland glitter. I had previously used this glitter for my wedding design nails.

I then  added a Rimmel matt top coat to the floral nails:

My verdict:

The nail art pens were great, really easy to use. My only criticism is that I wish the brush feature was finer so it could be used to paint on designs. Although the nails did look good when they were finished, I did like the effect with the matt top coat.

Matt or shiny… which finish do you prefer?
