This year I decided to give myself a bit of a spring clean and get more healthy. I do generally eat pretty well but I really wanted to get more fruit and veg in so I decided to get a smoothie maker. I blogged about my Breville Blend-Active Personal Blender in my January Stamp of Approval blog post. A friend had one and was recommending it to everyone so I bought one. I’m going to sound super cheesy here but it really has changed my life. It was a bargain (only about £20) and the washing and cleaning couldn’t really be much more minimal.

I now make smoothies every other day and I do genuinely feel so much better for it. I feel healthier, have more energy and generally just feel brighter. Most of the fruit I use is frozen which means that I need to buy it so much less frequently and it doesn’t go off. I even bought frozen spinach but I do find fresh spinach to work better.

Here are some of my favourite smoothie recipes that I’ve made up over the past couple of moths:

Raspberries, spinach, avocado and pineapple

I used frozen raspberries and pineapple with a handful of fresh spinach and a whole avocado cut up. To this I filled the bottle with half fresh apple juice and half water then blended.Raspberries, spinach, avocado and pineapple - jenniestamp.com

Blueberries, pineapple, spinach and banana

Frozen (or fresh) blueberries and pineapple, a handful of fresh spinach and a whole banana, topped up with apple juice and water then blended. The banana makes the smoothies a nice thick consistency and adds quite a bit of sweetness.

Blueberries, spinach and pineapple

There are hardly any ingredients in this smoothie but so much goodness! I used frozen blueberries and pineapple, a large handful off fresh spinach, water and apple juice.

Spinach, banana and pineapple green smoothie

This smoothie just oozes goodness! I blended fresh spinach and a banana with frozen pineapple, a bit of apple juice and water.

Low fat natural yoghurt, raspberries and mango

This smoothie is much thicker and more like a breakfast smoothie as it’s quite filling. I filled the bottle about a third of the way with the yoghurt, added some frozen mango and mango juice and lots of frozen raspberries. I then added some water to make it easier to blend and so it wasn’t too thick.

I’m always on the look out for new smoothie ideas and recipes so if you know of any, please do let me know if the comments.
Happy smoothie making!
