This is one of the meatiest blog posts I have ever written. It might even be meatier than my Steak on Stones visit
If I was on death row (bear with me) and had to choose what my last ever meal would be, I think it would have to be a Sunday roast. Followed by a cheese board, obvs. So when I was invited to the best steak restaurant in Edinburgh (aptly named Steak
) I jumped at the chance! My other half didn’t need
any convincing to accompany me either.
I love the atmosphere in the Steak restaurant. It has the typical Edinburgh high ceilings yet still feels cosy and romantic with it’s low lighting and wealth of candles. The staff are always fantastic and our waitress, Patricia, was the best yet on this visit. She made our visit the best it could have been.
But enough of all that, let’s get down to the business of the meat…
Steak offer an epic variation on a Sunday lunch called ‘Sharing Sundays’. For £30 per person you can enjoy the following banquet:
200g Roast Leg of Lamb and 400g Cote de Boeuf with all the trimmings of a traditional roast…
fluffy roast potatoes, peas, leeks and bacon in a creamy sauce, roasted root veg, a Yorkshire pudding each and indulgent gravy!
I’m an absolute gravy fiend so we asked for extra which they were more than happy to supply. There also a range of sauces on offer if you’d like some peppercorn or béarnaise to accompany your steak. It was only natural that I opted for a sumptuous Malbec to accompany the meats.
You do get an option of how you like your steak and lamb cooked but I’d recommend what we went for; medium rare steak and medium lamb. It was all melt-in-the-mouth delicious!
I really couldn’t fault anything we ate. It was all divine. I would have loved a dessert after but I was fit to explode so there was no chance I could eat another thing.
